Buccaneers to Decline Fifth-Year Option on OLB
Kim Klement Neitzel-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not exercise the fifth-year option of outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. As reported by Fox Sports’ Greg Auman, the 2021 first-round pick was set to make $13.2 million in 2025.

The 25 year-old from the University of Washington saw 49% of the defensive reps as a rookie. His second season saw a significant increase to 75% of the defenses reps. Unfortunately his third season saw that number drop to 51% with the emergence of other players at the position.

Tryon-Shoyinka will play the 2024 season with the Buccaneers. He’s then set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2025.

Tryon-Shoyinka’s Career Stats

Total tackles: 114
Sacks: 13.0
Forced fumbles: 1
Fumble recoveries: 1
Pass deflections: 6
