The Oakland A’s haven’t exactly been at the top of their game. They finished the 2023 season dead last in the American League West Division and had the fewest wins in all of the American League. The team has also begun the 2024 season with a losing schedule, but that shouldn’t stop die-hard fans from hoping for some good news out of the Oakland Coliseum.

If you want to keep up with the A’s this season, live TV streaming services are the way to go. You can record games using cloud DVR, watch from a mobile app and say goodbye to contracts.

What channels are Oakland Athletics games on this season?

Most Oakland A’s games air on a regional sports network (RSN) called NBC Sports California (NBCSCA). Perhaps due in part to their poor showing last year, they don’t get a lot of national action. However, NBCSCA is only available to people living in the region. Other fans’ best bet is to make sure they have MLB Network and consider an MLB TV subscription. A number of A’s games will also appear on ESPN Plus.

How to watch the Oakland Athletics on DIRECTV STREAM

  • Pricing begins at $79.99/mo
  • 75+ live TV channels
  • Free trial available

There are a few DIRECTV STEAM plans to choose from, but not all of them allow you to maximize A’s coverage. The service carries NBCSCA, Fox and MLB Network in the Choice, Ultimate and Premier plans. These plans are also the only place to get MLB Network. If you have the Entertainment package, you’ll only have A’s games on Fox.

DIRECTV STREAM also has local Bally Sports networks, which is rare for livestreaming platforms. In addition, you’ll find NFL Network, NHL Network, NFL RedZone, NBA TV, the CBS Sports Network and so many more. Collegiate action can be found on networks like SEC Network and Big Ten Network. DIRECTV STREAM offers unlimited DVR storage in all packages.

How to watch the Oakland Athletics on Fubo

  • Pricing begins at $79.99/mo
  • 161+ live TV channels
  • Free trial available

Fubo also offers NBCSCA for A’s games, plus Bally Sports networks for local Bay Area sports action. This service has three plans to choose from, is priced competitively with other livestreaming platforms, and allows you to watch on up to 10 devices simultaneously at home.  If you live out-of-network for NBCSCA,  you can still use Fubo to watch nationally broadcast games on MLB Network (with an add-on) or Fox.

Fubo also has popular networks for sports fans, such as the NFL Network, Big Ten Network, Golf Channel and Fubo Sports. If you still need more access to games, consider the Sports Lite Add-on. This will increase your monthly bill, but it includes MLB Network, MLB Strikezone, NHL Network and NBA TV, among other sports channels that give you bang for your buck. Fubo gives all customers 1000 hours of cloud DVR storage space.

How to watch the Oakland Athletics on Hulu + Live TV

  • Pricing begins at $76.99/mo
  • 95+ live TV channels
  • 3-day free trial

Hulu + Live TV doesn’t have NBC Sports California, so you won’t have access to most local games. On the other hand, you’ll be able to see the A’s games that air on ESPN Plus. Hulu + Live TV gives all customers a free ESPN Plus subscription, and you can even use your Hulu login credentials to access the app. The livestreaming service has two plans with a 95+ channel lineup. The only difference between the two plans is that one has an ad-supported on-demand library and one doesn’t. Hulu + Live TV also has MLB Network and Fox.

In addition to channels that carry the A’s, customers get ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, NFL Network, TNT, the ACC Network, Big Ten Network and SEC Network. The platform’s sports add-on most notably has NFL RedZone, and it also unlocks niche networks like FanDuel TV, FanDuel Racing, MAVTV, Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel. All Hulu + Live TV customers get unlimited cloud DVR space.

How to watch the Oakland Athletics on Sling TV

  • Pricing begins at $40.00/mo
  • 31+ live TV channels
  • Free trial currently unavailable

Sling TV is affordable, but it doesn’t have a huge channel list. It’s not the best fit for people who love to scroll. If you’re super budget-conscious and just want the basics, you may love it. When it comes to watching the Oakland A’s, Sling TV has MLB Network in the Sports Extra, and Fox is available in select markets. Unfortunately, it doesn't have NBC Sports California. You can get the longest channel list by getting the Sling Orange & Blue plan. You can also purchase Sling Orange and Sling Blue separately. When Fox is available in your market, you’ll find it on Sling Blue.

The Sports Extra add-on packages cost extra but include important networks like MLB Network, NHL Network, NBA TV, MLB Network Strike Zone, Tennis Channel and NFL RedZone. Customers get 50 hours of DVR storage by default or 200 hours with a DVR upgrade.

How to watch the Oakland Athletics on YouTube TV

  • Pricing begins at $72.99/mo
  • 100+ live TV channels
  • Free trial available

YouTube TV has NBCSCA, but it lacks MLB Network. You’ll also get Fox, though that network doesn’t carry as many out-of-network games as MLB Network does. YouTube TV has just one plan, but you can customize your service with add-ons. The base plan includes a lot of sports content, including ESPN, FS1, FS2, NFL Network, MotorTrend, SEC Network, the CBS Sports Network and the Tennis Channel.

If that’s not enough, consider the Sports Plus add-on. This gives you access to additional channels like NFL RedZone, Fox Soccer Plus, Billiard TV, FanDuel TV and Fight Network. Customers get unlimited DVR, a Key Plays feature and live in-game stats. During football season, YouTube TV is the only place to buy the NFL Sunday Ticket (though you don’t need a live subscription to get it).

How to watch the Oakland Athletics on Apple TV+

  • New Apple Originals streaming every month
  • Compatible with most streaming devices
  • Includes select MLB and MLS games

Some MLB games will air exclusively on Apple TV+'s “Friday Night Baseball” this season. Unfortunately, the A’s were not included in the lineup. However, you can watch many other teams in the Friday night doubleheader format through the end of June.

The Apple TV+ app is compatible with devices such as Amazon Fire TVs, Amazon Fire TV Sticks, smart TVs, Roku devices, PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles and Chromecast with Google TV.

How to watch Oakland Athletics out-of-market games with MLB TV

You can use MLB TV to watch out-of-market A's games, so it may be worth your money if you’re not in the Bay Area. For Oakland-based fans, a team pass may be a better fit. Signing up for MLB TV is easy on the MLB website. Fans can also add MLB TV as a channel to their Amazon Prime subscription.
